Today I had another meeting with Paul to see how he was feeling about being a vampire. It’s not the easiest feeling in the world. Some people take it relatively calmly like when Arthur turned into one. However, there are some who didn’t take it as calmly like when Carla turned. She didn’t start looking at the bright side of things, until Arthur found her. When I changed it was hard for me to accept it. I’m better now, though there are still some days it feels weird not to feel my heartbeat or eat food. I still hate the day I had to clean out my fridge. I had some really good ice cream in there! But I’m getting better.

When I asked Paul how he felt he sat back and thought for a bit. He told me that it was still weird waking up at night when he was a morning person. He missed eating his favorite foods, but he was glad he could still smell them. He was going to miss going to the beach to tan. However, he was glad he had a second chance to make his life better. When he was human he felt that things weren’t going so well in his life. When he was thinking about making a change he ended up getting changed into a vampire. He considers it his second chance, so it helps him accept his new life.

You know I never thought about it that way. All of us who got changed had so many things going on that now we don’t have to worry about the little things that used to stay on our mind. Now we’re open to different possibilities. It stayed on my mind long after I got home from work.

I may be dead, but I have a second chance. I should make the most of it.
