I stared at the ceiling in the softest bed I’ve ever been in as I replayed the last hour. Alex and Tommy had fought for a bit before they had to leave for their meeting. Alex argued that he should have waited to contact me since the old wolves wouldn’t be happy about me being at the hotel where a lot of werewolves were currently staying at. Tommy shot that point down before he brought up that the old wolves would be angry because they’re still thinking about a time where vampires and werewolves didn’t get along. He explained that times had changed so he wasn’t going to keep me in the dark about being safe if it meant he could also see me in the process instead of sending cryptic text messages about what’s going on.
They argued for a bit more before they left. Tommy reassured me that I could use anything I wanted in the room. I could even order room service since the staff had been told to not tell anyone else that I was there. I couldn’t deny that Alex had brought up some good points since it’s true I am a newly changed vampire that doesn’t know the long history between some werewolves and vampires. However, it did feel nice to watch Tommy defend his right to see me. Is this what it’s like to be someone’s priority instead of being just an option? I couldn’t help pressing my face in the pillow to hide my silly grin.
